I have lived near RAF Brize Norton most of my life; growing up in Witney which is only 7 miles away and then living in Black Bourton and Carterton for over ten years which are both on the perimeter of the base. I remember hearing Concorde depart regularly from Brize Norton in my childhood and seeing Military aircraft in the skies around West Oxfordshire ​is part of everyday life.

 

Once I got my first DSLR camera in 2014 I discovered an interest in photographing the aircraft at RAF Brize Norton and at airshows in the UK. I can often be found at the end of the runway with camera in hand on one of my walks around the area. Living in Carterton as I do now I am only a 15 minute walk from the fence so I quite often combine photographing aircraft and nature on my walks!
